We’re looking for a Fundraising Campaign Manager

The Elizabeth Landmark is seeking a Fundraising Campaign Manager to help lead and deliver fundraising for an ambitious public art project in Northumberland.

This is a part-time role, and we welcome applications both from individuals seeking employment and from freelance fundraising consultants. Contract terms will be tailored accordingly.

Reports to: Trustees and Project Coordinator
Hours: 2 - 3 days per week, with flexible working considered
Location: Hybrid, with periodic presence at Ray Demesne
Contract: 12 months / renewable depending on project progress

About The Elizabeth Landmark

The Elizabeth Landmark will be a major Northumbrian landscape sculpture at Cold Law, Northumberland, created in honour of Queen Elizabeth II and her connection to the Commonwealth.

The project will create a significant new cultural destination in the region, bringing together public art, landscape and heritage in an extraordinary rural setting.

About the role

The Trustees are looking to appoint a member of staff or freelance consultant to organise, energise and implement fundraising for the project.

The postholder will lead the development and delivery of a fundraising strategy to help raise around £10m, working closely with the Trustees and the Curator. The role will involve shaping the campaign, managing donor relationships, identifying and researching prospects, and helping to build the systems, stewardship and infrastructure needed to support successful fundraising. This role is intended to provide the professional expertise and capacity needed to turn that opportunity into a structured fundraising programme.

Main responsibilities

The Fundraising Campaign Manager will:

  • develop and deliver the fundraising strategy for the project

  • identify, research and progress major donor, trust, corporate and grant opportunities

  • work closely with Trustees and the Curator to support donor engagement and fundraising activity

  • refine the case for support and identify opportunities for philanthropic, corporate and in-kind giving

  • put in place simple systems for prospect management, due diligence, stewardship and reporting

  • provide clear updates and strategic advice to Trustees as the campaign develops

  • help ensure fundraising activity is compliant, well-organised and professionally managed

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • a strong track record in major gifts fundraising, ideally including six- and seven-figure gifts

  • experience of developing or leading significant fundraising campaigns

  • the ability to build relationships at a senior level and inspire confidence

  • strong strategic thinking, communication skills and fundraising judgment

  • experience of advising and supporting trustees or senior volunteers

  • knowledge of fundraising best practice, regulation and due diligence

  • an interest in ambitious cultural, heritage, landscape or public art projects
